I loved how easy it was to stroll to nearby Hitchin Coffee Lab just a few steps away for a delicious morning brew and enjoy the serene views at St Mary's Church, just a short walk from the hotel, making my weekend feel like a perfect city getaway.

Great for families with kids
The staff were super friendly, especially this one woman who went out of her way to help us when my son spilled juice all over the table. The breakfast was superb, I had the scrambled eggs which were soft and buttery, and my kid loved the pancakes.
Wasn't necessarily inexpensive but it was worth it.

We had an amazing time staying here with friends! We explored the local shops and enjoyed a visit to nearby St Mary's church. The WiFi was great, and the beds were comfy. The bar area is lovely, and the food is well-priced. Definitely a fun place to hang out!
Unfortunately, the bathroom in our room had a dripping shower head, which was quite bothersome at night. It took away from the overall comfort of our stay.

It wasn't exactly a bargain but for the experience it was fine

Great spot in Hitchin
We stayed for 3 nights and loved exploring Hitchin's shops. The staff were super friendly, especially in the bar area where we enjoyed tasty meals. The rooms had a unique charm, and the showers were hot and refreshing. If you’re here for a gathering, just be ready for a wait at the bar during busy times.

The room was cozy and had a nice character to it. The bed was really comfortable, making it easy to crash after a long day. The fan was a lifesaver since it was super hot during our stay. It had decent WiFi, and the shower was hot, which is always a plus. Just be aware, the layout can be a bit of a maze to navigate, and it felt a little cramped in some spots.

missingWrote a review on Jul 07cozy atmospheregreat potentialcharacter buildingstale odor
The location holds great potential, sitting within a building that exudes character. The bar and restaurant areas appear to have received a much-needed facelift, presenting a cozy yet charming atmosphere, perfect after a long day out.
The room condition leaves much to be desired. tired décor with worn carpets and stained walls make it feel like it's stuck in a time warp. Accessing the second floor is cumbersome, especially if you're hauling bags, and the lack of basic amenities—only one glass and towel for two people—was a letdown. A lingering smell of stale cigarettes hit me the moment I stepped inside the room, further adding to the discomfort. While freshly brewed coffee is a nice thought, being served a kettle and tea bags instead of proper service feels a bit shoddy, and the unfinished repairs noticed throughout the hotel suggest ongoing neglect.

The location made it easy to explore the area on foot. The mattress quality was impressive and ensured a good night's sleep.
The lack of proper Wi-Fi access was noticeable.
